모니터 오디오는 1973년에 창업해, 영국은 런던으로부터
약 1시간 거리의 동해안 Raylight에 거점을 둔, 약 30년의 역사를 가진 스피커 메이커입니다. 골드 화인 테크놀로지로
대표되는 첨단 기술의 개발에 적극적이며, 인클로저에서 유닛이나 네트워크 회로까지 모두를 본사공장에서 일괄생산 할 수 있는 몇 안
되는 메이커입니다. 1991년에 세계최초로 세라믹 알루미늄 우퍼를 발표한 이래, 「메탈 유닛의 선구자」로서 세계에 알려지게
되었습니다. 이후, 메탈 유닛을 탑재한 스피커가 세계 각국에서 발표되고 있는 것은 이미 알고 있는 대로 입니다.
모니터 오디오는 숙련된 직원의 능력을 최대한 발휘할 수 있는 생산환경을 만들어놓고, 각 제품에 항상 타협 없게 엄선된 소재를
사용하면서도, 가격대에서 유리한 해외에 생산거점을 옮기는 메이커가 증가하는 추세에, 장인정신에 입각해 영국 내 생산을 고집하고
있습니다.
모니터 오디오에서는, 최근에 오디오 업계의 발전(새로운 포맷의 등장이나 홈시어터의 보급)에 맞추어 1999년에 유닛부터
인클로저까지의 완전히 재검토한 Gold 시리즈를 개발했으며, 더욱더 기술을 최대한으로 활용하여 Silver 시리즈를
완성시켰습니다. 새로운 라이프스타일의 Baby Boomer의 두 번째 버전으로 등장한 ”Radius 시리즈”는 그 높은 퍼포먼스가
평가되어 2004년에 많은 수상경력을 갖고 있습니다. 또 5.1 ch패키지의 ”Radius45 AV System”을 비롯해,
보급형에서도 본격적인 순수 하이파이 오디오와 AV의 하모니를 이룬, 리뉴얼 모델 ”New Bronze 시리즈” 를 출시했습니다.
지금 현재는 순수 하이파이의 최고를 목표로 해 ”Platinum 시리즈”를 개발 중입니다.

- Unique drivers designed and tooled for Radius. The new cast
bass-mid chassis is made from high-tech glass loaded engineering
polymer that provides better damping than metal and increased
overall strength.
- MMP® 2. Monitor Audio's second generation metal matrix polymer
cone material now uses a high-pressure injection moulding process to
achieve different thickness at desired points of the cone geometry
for greater stiffness and consistency resulting in superior
25mm Gold CCAM® tweeter extends to 25kHz
- Magnetically shielded drivers allow Radius to be safely used
near sensitive microprocessor equipment or video displays
- High quality crossover uses high grade metalised Polypropylene
capacitors for increased clarity. High-grade air core and laminated
iron core inductors give lowest possible distortion and low
insertion losses.
- Specially developed high grade PCOFC inte
al cable is used
throughout to ensure maximum signal transfer at all frequencies and
low signal resistance.
- Single through-bolt driver fixing provides mechanical
de-coupling and enhanced mid-band clarity and resolution. The
through-bolts also act as rigid cross bracing to give a very solid
non-resonant cabinet.
- Rear ported design with rigid MDF construction throughout.
- Smooth radius edges reduce diffraction effects for better
imaging
- Video silver lacquer and real wood veneer finishes.
- Perforated metal grilles supplied in both black and silver to
match individual decor or taste.
- Specially designed die-cast metal wall bracket system (supplied)
provides 20 degrees of vertical and horizontal pivoting for easy
positioning.
